Summary
The main idea of this article is to talk about the danger of how global warming not only affects the
heat but the humans and animals within it. Because of the increase of global warming, new diseases have
spread through the air which were not present before in Europe. Jan Semenza, a researcher from the
local disease prevention group said "Climate change has introduced several public health issues. For one
thing, now there are new pathogens in Europe which have never been seen here before." Since the the
summer heat wave of summer 2010 ,the heat have started new diseases and brought new diseases to
Europe from other countries. The animals affected by the heat such as mosquitoes have migrated over
to Europe, this caused a spread through the blood of humans. Since there are new diseases popping up
around Europe, blood donors have a hard time donating blood, as these diseases could spread to the
body of the patient needing the blood.
Reflection
I chose this article because i found an interest in global warming as it affects everyone. Global
warming has changed so many factors on the Earth and if it can't be stop or at least slowed, the Earth
could suffer even more severe changes. I personally do not like the heat, it has changed everything
around me including the migrating of bugs into my house. Heat has also got me to start a fever when it is
hottest. This article shows the great effects of global warming. Global warming is a growing result of the
man made waste we released into the sky. Since humans are partly the blame of this chaotic product, I
believe they humans can reverse it or at least slow it down. One thing we can do is to reduce, reuse,
and recycle. By recycling half of our house waste, we can help save 2400 pounds of carbon a year.
Another way we can help, is to switch to energy efficient lights. If every family switches to these new
lights, we can save 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gases.
